Located in vibrant Commercial Drive, Cabrito is the neighborhood’s cozy nook focused on offering great Spanish cuisine. It adds to the already rich cultural tapestry of this amazing neighborhood. With a stunning mural drawn by local artist Yared Nigussu and rotating live entertainment varying from traditional Flamenco to Latin soul, it’s easy to be transported to the back streets of St. Sebastian.
Driven by Alex Carriere, French Chef/Owner who arrived in 2008 to Vancouver, Cabrito is a combination of different personalities and characters who bring their craft into a 36 seats restaurant, where you will find locally sourced produce, Ocean Wise seafood and non-medicated meat to recreate Spanish tapas with a twist, a selection of cheeses, charcuterie & seasonal small plates.
In true Vancouver fashion, Cabrito has also taken the brunch experience to the streets of Spain with dishes utilizing Txistorra, Piquillo, and Jamon de Bellota.
Cabrito is looking for positive souls who are passionate about good healthy food, a desire to learn and grow and open to experiencing new things. We are looking for full time Sous-Chef. We appreciate individuality and people who bring more to the table than just experience. We’re looking for career minded people as opposed to just paying the bills. You will be working alongside with our French Chef, so creativity and curiosity are required.
You will act as a mentor and lead the kitchen staff
You will be in charge or ordering produce
Create with the chef and the team daily tapas
Assist in receiving and managing raw food products
Prepare stations for use including cleanliness
Complete daily prep lists to standard
Prepare all menu items for dinner service
Ability to work both cold and hot stations
Clean, close, and reset kitchen at end of service
You have a great skill of communication
You have an ability of leading a team
You are a creative minded Chef
You have common sense
You are passionate
Two years cooking experience as a manager or Sous-Chef
Knowledge of Spanish cooking is an asset but not required
Wages are competitive with extended medical benefits after 3 months and gratuities included. Possibility to grow within the company. Must be available to work weekends. Training can begin immediately. Send your resume and cover letter bio.
