Human Resources Manager – Vancouver CGIS (CG Industrial Specialties Ltd.) is looking for a skilled strategic business partner to join their team, in the position of Human Resources Manager. With HQ based in South Vancouver, this dynamic, entrepreneurial, sales & distribution company, specializing in severe service valves and automated solutions, has an immediate need and opportunity for a senior generalist; someone who wants to contribute best practice HR, be part of a great team of people and have a positive impact on the culture of the organization. The Manager, People & Culture develops and manages the delivery of organizational human resources programs and initiatives related to HR policy & practice, benefits, employee relations, human resource planning, recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement & retention, performance management, and maintenance of employee records, information and metrics. This role also has responsibilities in the areas of compensation, communication and culture. All initiatives are executed to reflect the strategy, direction and culture of the organization. Our ideal candidate will present with the following: A senior HR generalist with 7-10 years experience; a degree or diploma in HR Management and a holder of the CPHR designation; Strong business acumen and good working knowledge of Federal & Provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health & Worksafe, PIPA and Labour Law; An individual who thrives in balancing and executing on all facets of operational and strategic HR; this will initially be a sole practitioner role, someone not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done; Experience in delivering on thoughtful best practices that reflect the strategy, direction and culture of an organization; Evidence of success working in a medium sized family owned business an asset; Adaptable, organized and an excellent time manager with the ability to prioritize one’s self, the work of others as applicable and plan in advance for significant tasks; Proven experience to positively contribute to a senior leadership team; A keen interest in employee engagement and the work of creating “best employee experiences”; Resilient, confident in knowledge, skills and self; effectively holds a space of neutrality and confidentiality; Strong proactive interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, understand and provide clarification; in addition, have the confidence and ability to say “no” with diplomacy and tact; Strong ability to coach and mentor staff at all levels to achieve desired results; Good experience working effectively in multiple provinces and offices.
