JOB SUMMARY: Within the context of a client centered care model, and in accordance with established standards of professional practice, vision and values of the organization, the Music Therapist develops, implements, co-ordinates and evaluates music therapy programs. Position also maintains an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation and education. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and approved research, provides formal and informal consultations to other staff and supervises and evaluates the work activities of music therapy practicum students and interns. Collaborates with the Manager regarding operational issues as related to the provision of music therapy. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Bachelor Degree of Music Therapy. Eligible for full, accredited membership in the Canadian Association for Music Therapy. One year of recent, related experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in writing. Ability to supervise. Ability to interact effectively with others. Ability to organize workload and set priorities. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Ability to operate related equipment.
