Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Support position will be responsible for supporting the maintenance department with general maintenance and repair of company property, machinery and building systems.
• Assist with installation, repair and upkeep of company property including, machines, equipment, mechanical systems, building and other structures. • Conduct regular inspection and maintenance of machinery to ensure conformance with operational standards. • Maintain records of all service, maintenance and refurbishing work carried out on machines and equipment. • Adhere to preventative maintenance programs. • Work towards improving working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) • Interact and work with outside vendors (contractors) as needed.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a similar role. • Ability to operate a forklift (must have current and valid ticket). • Must own your own vehicle. • Knowledge of method, materials, hand and power tools used in maintenance work. • Ability to work safely and efficiently; knowledge of safety regulations and practices. • Experience in maintenance in a manufacturing / food production plant is an asset, but not a requirement. • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical systems, electronics, welding, and machining is an asset. • Previous millwright experience is an asset. • Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, contractors and company management. • Ability to anticipate, troubleshoot and solve problems. • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
