Chickpea is a plant based Mediterranean Restaurant and food truck that has opened up in 2016.
Since our opening we have been swamped by amazing costumers that can’t get enough of our food and vibe.

We are currently looking for a kitchen manager for our growing company, to co-operate with the existing team and management to establish procedures that will help us grow. As we expand and spread the Chickpeace, there is much room for growth in our Chickpea family.

Compensation will be discussed and is dependent on work experience.
We would like to have a committed individual who wants to sign a contract and
health benefits will also be offered after a year of work.

The initial job duties are :

Working closely with shift leaders and team.

Order supplies,take-away (truck) containers, food and ingredients based on rapidly shifting
demand.

Hire and train kitchen staff in specific stations, and cross-train as necessary.

Ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and also following kitchen
procedures

Create schedules for kitchen staff to ensure there are always enough workers to meet the demand,
particularly for prep, lunch rush, and dinner rush.

Monitor food waste inventory levels and resolve food quality issues

Develop a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew

Take responsibility for all orders that come via delivery companies and make sure they are
followed through by the kitchen staff.

Ensure kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized according to Health BC requirements.

Ensure temperature logs are always up to date on all fridges, freezers and hot holdings.

Maintain the FIFO system and always label and date food.

Maintain inventory levels and conduct full weekly inventory.

Assist the Restaurant Manager with menu changes and adjustments based on seasonal
availability.

Find new employees when needed.

Properly maintain the hood vent and grease trap, ensuring that both are routinely cleaned every 6
months.

Respond personally to guest questions and complaints.

Communicate effectively with crew members in order to maintain superior customer service.

Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure that it is kept in good repair; making sure malfunctioning
equipment is repaired as quickly as possible.

Ensure that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet the necessary guidelines to prevent
injuries and accidents.
