If so, the City of Langford invites you to apply for a full-time Transcriptionist position with the West Shore RCMP Detachment!

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of specialised administrative support in the transcription of documents including, but not limited to: various reports, interview notes, police reports and audio recordings. Additionally, the Transcriptionist is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties relative to their assigned area of responsibility. The position also includes various other related records management duties.
Applicants must have strong organizational skills, be able to work in independently and in a team environment, and multi-task through various duties and assignments. Experience with the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME), Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and RCMP policies and regulations, and other data base programs are considered an asset.

Minimum job requirements include:

  • Grade 12 Diploma;
  • A minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute (to be certified through the recruitment process);
  • Knowledge and experience in both document and audio transcription;
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office;
  • Considerable experience and/or education in a police administrative environment; and
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
