Technologist – Transportation Design

The City of Victoria is recruiting for the position of Transportation Design Technologist to support the design and construction of civil transportation infrastructure. The position will focus on concept and functional design development with an inter-departmental team to develop new cycling infrastructure (including All Ages and Abilities projects), pedestrian crossings and sidewalks, accessibility features and other road related upgrades.
The ideal candidate has proven CAD software design skills, understands engineering drawings and technical specifications, and has experience in working on minor and major capital infrastructure projects. The position will liaise with consultants, professional staff in other departments and outside agencies, and apply creativity and technical skills to support safer, high-quality transportation infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring fresh and innovative ideas and strong leadership and project delivery skills.

This individual will be adaptive, able to contribute to complex projects, deliver to ambitious schedules, and find the best design solutions to contribute to the success of the City’s mobility system.
