The City of Abbotsford’s Finance, Legal and Legislative Services Department is looking for Supply Services Support on a temporary, full-time basis. Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, you will be responsible for providing support to Supply Services in the shipping and receiving of goods.

The position is also responsible for stocking of shelves, maintaining inventory records, issuing of material, and purchasing of goods according to well-defined procedures. This is manual and routine Stores work, loading and unloading heavy material by forklift.

In this challenging role, you will be updating and maintaining inventory by using the computerized inventory control functions of an integrated or stand-alone system. Inputs data concerning replenishing, receiving, storing and issuing materials. Good communication skills and knowledge of office equipment and practices and procedures, including
computerized recordkeeping is pertinent for success in this position.

In order to be considered for this position you must have:

  • Completion of Grade 12, plus courses that are equivalent to two of the following Supply Management Training (SMT) modules offered by Supply Chain Canada and Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM/APICS): CPIM Part 1 – Basics of Supply Chain Management, SMT Procurement, SMT Logistics. SMT Operations Management and SMT Transportation.
  • A minimum of one-year experience working in a supply services support role.
  • A minimum of six months’ experience operating a forklift.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Drivers Licence
  • Valid Forklift Operator Training

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $24.02 to $28.26.
