Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Vancouver

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a well established high tech manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area.

Responsibilities:

-Design, implement and maintain manufacturing processes, test operations and jigs/fixtures according to product requirements, best practices, quality objectives and cycle time
-Work with NPI Team to review hardware design of the products and provide feedback to engineering design team in terms of optimizing design for manufacturability (DFM), production yield and cycle time
-Investigate and resolve technical issues in manufacturing, drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
-Identify and document design and quality failures in productions and escalate the flaws to the proper parties
-Investigate process failures and individually, or in teams, find root causes and prevent recurrences
-Define and document processes that are efficient, scalable, reliable, and repeatable
-Initiate, lead and contribute in strategy and execution of defined objectives for improving cycle time, increasing throughput, quality levels and efficiency
-Work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment to build existing products and help transition new products to manufacturing
-Support Quality Assurance to review and investigate failures reported by customers and propose poke yoke / corrective actions in manufacturing processes, operations or jigs
-Provide support, guidance and technical direction to other Manufacturing Engineers
-Develop a continuous improvement culture, skills sets and tools to enhance quality and operational excellence

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent
-7+ years in a Manufacturing Engineering capacity
-Strong knowledge of PCBA and packaged electronics manufacturing processes
-Strong knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices, either through certification or considerable practical experience
-Strong technical leadership / mentoring skills
-Strong data analysis and visualization skills
-Experience working in high volume manufacturing environment
-Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA)
-Excellent time management and prioritization
-Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
-Excellent team work, strategic thinking and process-oriented
-Excellent verbal and written communication in English
