ABOUT OUR CLIENTOur client is a full-service real estate development firm driven by a purpose of improving community through their work. With proven expertise and an established reputation, they acquire, develop, build and market their own projects. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-Cycle Accounting: Bookkeeping, billing, collections, managing cash flow including payables and receivables, reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable federal, provincial and local regulations.Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly forecasting and prepare the annual budget and budget vs. actual reports.Payroll & Taxation: Process payroll in a timely fashion and filing governmental remittances including GST, PST, ROE’s, WCB, etc. both monthly and quarterly.Inter-company Accounts Management: Organize, maintain and report on inter-company transactions to ensure all accounts are accurately reconciled and up to date. Project Management: Monitor and report on project costs, budgets and schedules and liaise with Project Managers, Sub Trades, Suppliers, Management and other Project Staff to ensure thorough communication.Financial Statements: Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including analyzing monthly statement to identify key issues in sales, costs, productivity, and margins.Process Improvement: Develop methodologies, dashboards, and metrics for reporting and analysis of company operations and identify and drive opportunities for business process improvement. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:3+ years of experience in Accounting (Project Accounting preferred)Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineProfessional accounting designation (CPA, CMA or CGA) is an assetExperience working in real estate development or construction management High level working knowledge of computerized accounting systems (Quickbooks, Accumatica or Sage 300)Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft ExcelDemonstrated experience with cash flow projections, forecasts, budgets, costing and accounts payableSolid understanding of the Builders Lien Act and Construction ContractAnalytical and solution-oriented Excellent communication skills and a true team-player Ability to multi-task and hustle in a fast-paced environment to deliver timely resultsTax knowledge is considered an asset WHY JOIN OUR CLIENT’S TEAM?
