The City of Abbotsford’s Legislative Services department is seeking a self-motivated enthusiastic professional with a high degree of initiative and the ability to think on their feet in a fast paced customer service work environment to join their dynamic team.

In this temporary, full-time role (2 year term) as a Record Indexing Clerk you will work closely with the Legislative Services and Building Permit & Licences divisions. The Record Indexing Clerk is responsible for scanning and converting all existing microfiche jackets into the City’s Information Systems.

Reporting to the Records Coordinator, Legislative Services, the Record Indexing Clerk exercises independence of action and judgement within established guidelines, referring unusual or complex problems to the manager. This position requires a high level of organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications Required:

  • Completion of Grade 12 plus computer software courses (word processing and spreadsheet applications).
  • A minimum of one-year experience in records management, operating scanning equipment, and maintaining electronic or manual filing systems.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $22.79 to $26.81.
