We are currently seeking a regular full-time Purchasing Clerk to join our team! The position plays a vital role to the team by providing heavy administrative support to the Purchasing section in the City’s Finance division.

Responsibilities include processing bids and purchasing documents and responding to related inquiries. The Purchasing Clerk will also maintain and organize purchasing documents, files and records, preparing purchase orders, maintaining websites, scheduling, verifying accuracy of information and general duties as required for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the section. The Purchasing Clerk has a key role in liaising with multiple suppliers and vendors while juggling through their daily tasks.

If you are a team player and have experience in purchasing, managing inventory, working with vendors and a proven track record of providing excellent customer service, we want to hear from you. This position works in a fast paced environment, where no two days are the same.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication and documentation skills; is self-motivated and has the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Internet and ERP software such as IBM Maximo is preferred. They will also have strong teamwork and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to set up and produce moderately complex documents required in the operations of the department. A minimum of Grade 12 completion is required supplemented by courses in bookkeeping, purchasing fundamentals and office administration.

The City is offering an hourly rate of $24.85-$29.12, plus a competitive benefits package and an Earned Day Off program. Applicants under consideration will be required to undergo a police security clearance evaluation.
