The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is the regional government serving the approximate 30,000 residents of the Sunshine Coast, BC. Bordered by rugged mountains on one side and the Georgia Strait on the other, the Sunshine Coast is situated on a peninsula between Howe Sound and Jervis Inlet in the traditional territory of the shíshálh and Skwxwú7mesh First Nations.  Known for its mild winters, beautiful surroundings, arts, recreation, culture, and home to about 30,000 year-round residents, the Sunshine Coast of BC is not only a preferred tourist destination, it is a great place to live, work and play. 

Under the day to day supervision of the Senior Planner, the Planner I researches, analyses, and drafts reports on provincial referrals, land use planning permits. The Planner I also attends and facilitates discussion at SCRD advisory committee meetings and leads engagement processes for the Planning and Development Division.

This is a bargaining unit position with a wage rate of $42.41 per hour and includes a full benefits package upon the successful completion of a four-month probationary period with the SCRD.  Applications for this position must include a current resume, a cover letter quoting the competition number and verification of education/certification submitted via email to Human Resources by the closing date and time shown above.
