Parking Bylaw Enforcement Officer

We are seeking a full time Parking Bylaw Enforcement Officer to perform regulatory and enforcement work to ensure compliance with municipal parking regulations and bylaws.  An incumbent patrols assigned areas, issues tickets for parking infractions and provides information on parking regulations. The work involves constant public contact and requires the exercise of tact, discretion and sound judgment, ensuring the maintenance of good public relations.

The successful candidate will have completed 12th grade and the Bylaw Enforcement & Investigative Skills Certificate Program – Level 1 (Justice Institute or equivalent) and have some regulatory or enforcement experience.  The candidates will be expected to enforce parking regulations; patrol by vehicle, bicycle or on foot assigned public areas and parking lots; mark vehicles and issue tickets for parking infractions; Investigate complaints from the public concerning illegally parked and abandoned vehicles; respond to parking related inquiries and provide information on parking regulations. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License, including an acceptable driver’s abstract, is required.

This is a full time CUPE position working a seven hour day within the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, adapted to summer and winter seasons.

WAGE: $26.24 – $30.84 per hour
