The City of Victoria is recruiting for the position of Outreach Coordinator to support the planning, consultation, design and construction process of All Ages and Abilities (AAA) cycling infrastructure. The position will focus on maintaining relationships, leading consultation, and delivering communications to community stakeholders in order to advance the City’s sustainable transportation objectives and infrastructure investment program.
The successful candidate will be able to apply corporate communication standards using creative tools and strategies. The Coordinator will have academic or professional experience in the area of urban design and sustainable transportation, and will be able to lead the development of communications and engagement materials, respond to community or media inquiries, and evaluate outreach strategies.
The ideal candidate has proven community partnership skills, can manage multiple projects at once, and has a desire to collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team of professionals. They will be skilled at logistics and planning to support public events, consultation programs and stakeholder meetings. The ideal candidate will bring fresh and innovative ideas with an ability to plan, design, deliver, and evaluate various community outreach and education programs. This individual will be adaptive, can deliver to ambitious schedules, and is confident in delivering high quality engagement, outreach and communication programs.
