Our Information Technology Department is seeking a Microcomputer Support Specialist 1 to assist in installing software and hardware, setting up accounts, configuring systems, and helping with the deployment of software applications and performing basic clerical duties. This position also supports the deployment of applications and conducts specified testing exercises, and will use software tools to deploy desktop applications and patches and remotely configure end- user desktops.  May also perform other related work as required by our Department.
Qualifications include the completion of a one year certificate program in computer information systems, preferably some related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. An ideal candidate would have experience installing microcomputer hardware and software and assisting in the deployment of software applications, and have the ability to establish working relationships with internal contacts both in person and over the phone. They will also possess knowledge of information technology components such as hardware, software applications and patches, area networks, communications equipment, server and workstation operating systems, and be skilled in the use of relevant equipment to the work. Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.

Hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and are scheduled by the department on an as needed basis.  Regular operational hours for this role are Monday to Friday (8:00am – 4:00pm).
