As part of a team dedicated to service excellence, this professional local government position provides hands-on professional services and leadership for the CRD within the Human Resources and Corporate Safety service area.
Reporting to a senior occupational health and safety leader, and working closely with and providing leadership to a team of professional staff, the Manager – Occupational Health and Safety provides leadership and oversight for a range of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) initiatives and programs. With exceptional understanding of and experience in OH&S, the Manager provides professional support and leadership to the ongoing development, implementation, coordination and administration of the CRD’s occupational health and safety programs and initiatives, including those related to operational and capital programs. Primary responsibilities for this role at this time will be for occupational health and safety initiatives within the capital and operational services of Integrated Water Services (utility operations).
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a Degree in a related field and significant relevant professional OH&S experience, preferably in a unionized environment. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, or eligibility, is required. A full detail of requirements is posted in the description on the CRD website.
