Maintenance Planner

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner for a well-established industrial manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area.


•Plan and/or coordinate scheduled or unscheduled outages and major equipment overhauls by scoping work in the field in order to make recommendations for changes and/or improvements.
•Using technical information gained in the field purchase and/or coordinate required materials and services (internal or external) in order to successfully execute major equipment preventative maintenance and Turnaround work within the allotted outage windows.
•Ensure that major equipment PM program is effective, formalized, dynamic, periodically audited for accuracy and effectiveness (frequency, PSM elements, cost/benefit, procedure, feedback process, reliability & industry best practices, etc.).
•Develop tools and methods to formalize and continuously improve shutdown organization and major equipment overhaul.
•Schedule and coordinate work to optimize and maximize tradesperson utilization based on work capacity evaluations conducted in the field.
•Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Company policies, safety and environmental standards.
•Manage the predictive maintenance programs (vibration and oil analysis) – office task – coordinate visit by external company, gather results and take actions as required which may incur field trips.
•Assist maintenance Supervisor with preventative and corrective maintenance activities to achieve plant objectives, office task – piece of equipment requiring repair – equipment or component must be ordered – identify in the field.
•Validate and prioritize notifications and work orders, analyze and consolidate work requests and determine priority.
•Perform special project work and/or administrative assignments as required.
•Identify, propose and implement miscellaneous maintenance improvement opportunities as a result of field inspections e.g. If sees an installation, process that could be improved on to make recommendations.
•Understands and fulfils responsibilities outlined in the Quality Management System.


•Interprovincial Trade TQ or Chemical/Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma or Combination of applicable Industrial Maintenance experience and training.
•Maintenance Planner Certification/Designation.
•Minimum of five years’ experience in an industrial maintenance setting is required.
•Must be proficient with computer hardware and common MS office software.
•Must be familiar with common computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), SAP preferred.
•Must be familiar with computerized scheduling software.
•Must have excellent communication skills.
