Maintenance Mechanic with Class 4 Boiler Ticket – Delta

We currently have an opening for a Full-time Maintenance Mechanic with Class 4 Boiler ticket to work at our busy Food Processing plant in Delta, BC. This position is to service, troubleshoot and maintain production equipment and building fixtures at our plant. Looking for someone who has the ability to work all shifts including weekends is required.

Shifts Times:
5am – 2:30pm/2pm – 10:30pm/10pm – 6am

As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for:

– Troubleshooting: Ability to identify/troubleshoot equipment, executing the required diagnostic and then perform repairs as required.
– Machine setup: Ability to set up and get ready production equipment on a daily bases.
– PM: Preventative Maintenance of all production equipment
– Boilers Duties: ensure appropriate PM and daily boiler duties such as boilers startup /shutdown, blowdown, gauge readings are done and adjust as required
– Repairs/Changeovers/Maintenance/Fabrication: assist with projects as they arise.
– Building Facilities: assisting with a variety of building-related projects such as plumbing, patching walls, replacing light fixtures, bathroom issues, etc.
– The ideal candidate will have experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, welding and/or gas fitting, combined with a mechanical aptitude and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
What you bring:

– 4th class Boiler ticket and strong mechanical background and aptitude. Having a Millwright red seal is an asset.
– Hands on knowledge/experience with food production and packaging machines (preferred)
– Solid understanding of vacuum pumps, hydraulic/pneumatic systems. knowledge of PLC and computerized machinery is an asset.
– Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair systems
– Ability to work in a team-based environment and also work independently in a proactive manner
– Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide quality customer service
– Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs)
– Ability to work in confined and high spaces
