Maintenance Manager – Vancouver

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager/Supervisor for a well established manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area. This would be an ideal role for someone who enjoys leading a small team and who is still interested in working hands on with the tools when needed.

Responsibilities:

-Analyze production schedules and estimate work hour requirements for completion of job assignment
-Request tools, equipment, and supplies as required
-Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and standards
-Maintain building, including heating, air, fire protection system, and security
-Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
-Establish or revise work procedures to meet production schedules
-Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
-Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
-Initiate or suggest plans to motivate associates to achieve goals
-Maintain time and production records
-Coordinate repair and preventive maintenance work with production supervisors
-Maintain preventive maintenance program
-Be an active member of cooperative safety program
-On site contact for all Contractors
-Provide guidance for training of operator maintenance and critical setup “One Point Lessons”
-Audit PM Program, develop metric for maintenance performance (critical PMs, non-critical PMs, corrective maintenance hours, etc)
-Participate in Kaizen Projects to foster maintenance improvements
-Work with Safety and/or Quality Coordinator/Engineer to enhance equipment contribution(s) to safety and quality performance
-All other duties as assigned by Operations Manager

Qualifications:

-Engineering degree, Red Seal Certification, or equivalent
-5-10 years related experience in an Automated Manufacturing environment
-Previous management experience
-Electrical certification an asset
-Proficiency in sewing machine repair an asset
-Proficient with MS Office
-Proficient in preventive maintenance software
-Strong implementation, analytical, and facilitation skills
-Equipment troubleshooting and knowledge
