We are looking for two strategic, forward-thinking leaders to join our Parks, Recreation, Culture and Facilities team in the Landscape Section responsible for the operations, maintenance and revitalization of the landscaped areas within the City’s parks, streetscapes and civic building sites.

As the ideal candidate, you are a seasoned professional with a university degree, diploma or trades certification in horticulture, park management, leadership or related disciplines; accredited courses in project management, leadership studies and human resources plus at least 5 years of landscape management experience involved in the full range of design, maintenance, installation/construction and customer service.

You have led teams of skilled and semi-skilled staff in a high paced environment and are able to skillfully plan, schedule and deliver high quality public green spaces. Training, mentoring and inspiring a high energy team comes easily to you. You require minimal supervision, possess a positive can-do attitude and are able to tackle various landscape challenges with competency and flair. A Trades Qualification in Landscape Horticulture is required as well as a Pesticide Applicator’s License (may consider those without this license, provided the applicant successfully obtains during their probationary period). Applicants under consideration must be available for weekend shifts, need to hold a British Columbia Driver’s License and you will be required to consent to a Police Information Check.

A CUPE hourly rate of $40.35 – $47.69 (2020 rates), plus a competitive benefits package, and a compressed work week is being offered.
