We are looking for 2 collaborative team players to come join our team as Junior Recruiters.  As a key member of a dedicated recruitment team for the City of Vancouver, the Junior Recruiter supports the end to end recruitment process for the spectrum of positions. 
The Junior Recruiter role supports the recruitment and selection process primarily for high volume recruitment competitions (regular full time, regular part time, temporary and auxiliary positions), in accordance with defined recruitment guidelines and policies.  The Junior Recruiter is responsible for supporting hiring practices that are fair, equitable and welcoming of all applicants, and that provide equal employment opportunity to all qualified employees and applicants.
The Junior Recruiter works closely with the Hiring Manager to develop a recruitment strategy/action plan summarizing selection criteria, process steps and timeline.  The Junior Recruiter is responsible for all steps in the recruitment process from the job posting through the screening, interview, selection and offer stage.   This includes advising hiring managers about selection clauses in collective agreements and consulting or including our HR Business Partners when required. 
The ideal candidate has a:

  • Certificate or Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • Minimum 2 years in a recruitment capacity, preferably within a large complex unionized environment hiring large volumes of candidates
  • Excellent relationship builder, able to managing sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize, work under pressure with constant interruptions
  • Excellent communicator who can provide exceptional customer service and has an ability to explain and apply HR programs, policies, procedures, and collective agreements
