Integrated Transportation Department Manager

As the Integrated Transportation Department Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and manage an integrated multi-disciplinary transportation department responsible for the delivery of transportation planning and services in collaboration with other City divisions, branches, and regional partners.

You hold a degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning and are a Registered Professional Engineer with APEGBC or are eligible for registration.   You have 15 years of experience, preferably in a combination of municipal government and private sector experience.  You have a thorough knowledge of existing and emerging trends in transportation, limitations and benefits of technology utilization, factors of transportation demand, and implementation of various alternative transportation methodologies is required.  You are politically savvy and have exceptional leadership, communications and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team of staff. You are a strategic thinker and have exemplary problem solving and communication skills. You understand the benefits of building effective relationships with other City departments, external agencies and the public.
