The City of Burnaby’s Human Resources Department is actively seeking a HRIS Analyst to join its busy Records, Benefits and HRIS division.

Reporting to the Supervisor, HR Systems, Records and Benefits, the HRIS Analyst responsibilities are focused on maintaining an organized workflow of processing the full lifecycle of employee status changes while multi-tasking complex reporting, ad-hoc projects and supporting the benefits portfolio for the City.  The position will take a leadership role in complex HRIS projects while quickly adapting to changing day-to-day priorities within strict deadlines and tight timeframes. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Human Resource policies, procedures, legislation, agreements, functions and programs. Additional requirements include sound knowledge of the concepts, practices and techniques of HRIS and business administration. Experience working with pension and benefit providers is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of a human resource information system, ideally as a super-user of SAP-HR, with experience using organizational management software. The position requires skills in ad hoc reporting, Crystal Reports, advanced skills in MS Excel, Word and typing speed and accuracy. Attention to detail is essential. Effective problem solving, decision making and organizational skills are all critical to the success of the incumbent. Effective verbal and written communication is essential as this position provides information on various program, policies and procedures to all levels of the organization as well as various external agencies.  The position will also assist with the development and maintenance of business process and system documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Human Resources or other related fields, or a combination of training and experience. A CPHR designation is an asset. Experience in a unionized environment is necessary and a public organization is preferred.

Hours of work: 70 hours bi-weekly; 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM with a nine-day fortnight schedule.
