Tasks
• Communicate with Project Managers on up to date status of the work assigned
• Attending sites to demolition and to complete removal off affected building materials to bring the structure back to a clean and safe stage for rebuild
• Cleaning & deodorizing fire and smoke damage sites, Content cleaning & specialized cleaning
• Pack-out and storage; Setting up site protection – eg: the use of protective shoe covers & floor mats; Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment & facilities
• Being available for new floods, during work hours as well as after hours, including mandatory on-call rotation after hours and weekends.
• Remove water using truck mounts, portable extractors and sump pumps
• Complete all emergency repairs as needed
• Maintain all emergency equipment to ensure it is in good working order and clean
• Ensure all necessary health & safety policies, procedures and laws are being followed
• Assist with pack back/pack out and equipment pick-ups
• Assess and determine customer requirements and communicate them with dispatcher/ supervisor and or project manager
• Perform appropriate steps to mitigate further water damage in the home and/or business, depending on the situation. Schedule revisit through dispatch to check on drying conditions
• As necessary, perform professional carpet/upholstery cleaning services in customer’s home using company solutions and products.
• Operate company vehicle with good judgment, obeying all traffic laws, rules and regulations
• Perform regular company vehicle maintenance, as outlined in company standards and procedures
• List and pack out of affected content
• Support and participate in continuous improvement activities
• Comfortable working around job sites including wet, muddy and dusty conditions as well as sites with previous suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19
• Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years experience in related field
• Experience working in warehouse environments and/or construction sites
• Be bondable (No criminal record)
• A clean driving abstract and a valid G class driving license
• Experience driving company vehicles (Cube Trucks/Cargo Vans)
• Must have reliable transportation to drive to each worksite
• Must have No restrictions in wearing full PPE for a full shift (Latex/rubber gloves, N95/half masks, goggles, full PPE suites, booties, construction vest, construction hat, safety boots etc)
• Previous work experience on construction sites is a must
• A team player, positive, energetic, reliable, “Can-Do” attitude, hardworking and desired to learn
• Professional and a good Communicator and great customer service skills
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude
• Be available to work overtime when necessary
• Be available to perform On Call on a rotating basis.
• Must have ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Follow all company safety rules and responsibilities.
• Carpet cleaning experience would be an asset
• Those who hold a valid asbestos certification are an asset but not mandatory.
• Mould Re-Mediation training would be an asset
• Annual Police Clearance Report / mandatory
• Strong sense of ownership and self-accountability
• Self-starter with a high level of initiative
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs and be familiar with most restoration equipment and tools
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
• Performing demolitions & light construction tasks and cleaning up debris removal of drywall, cabinetry, and flooring and setting up containment and decontaminating
• Upholding all company policies and procedures; including OH&S
• Able to work well in team environments as well as alone
• Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools and demonstrate sound work ethics
• Willing to learn and grow within the company
• Follow all SERVPRO of North Vancouver safety protocols to meet WorkSafe BC requirements, including appropriate PPE Content processing: Assessing, listing, cleaning, packing and moving of content
• Maintain a clean job-site and attention to detail. Must have a strong work ethic
• Provide concise updates to the management and scheduling teams regarding job progress Cleaning and maintenance of company provided vehicles
• First Aid Training is highly preferred
• Pass or possess a certificate of First Aid proficiency (any level).
• Pass or complete a basic WHMIS course.
