This is clerical work of some variety and complexity involving the provision of information and assistance to a variety of contacts and the processing and issuance of a variety of permits and certificates. This position operates CPIC and other related RCMP computer applications to retrieve and record information; provides information and assistance to the public, handles complaints and enquiries at the front counter; explains rules, regulations and procedures within prescribed limits; takes fingerprints of persons as required; processes Criminal Record Search; prepares a variety of records and reports while working under minimal supervision. Performs other related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of grade 12 including or supplemented by commercial courses and RCMP computer operator’s courses plus sound related experience, preferably in an RCMP detachment or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The ability to type 45 words per minute and to operate CPIC, PRIME, JUSTIN, and other related RCMP computer applications for various certificates and permits and to process requests for criminal record searches and take fingerprints. Sound knowledge of the policies, procedures, rules and regulations applicable to the work performed and the ability to relay emergency situations to the appropriate contacts. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance.
