You will be delivering excellent customer service experiences by providing personal training, fitness testing and weight room orientation for facility users. You will promote health and wellness related programs and services and provide advice, guidance and referral services relative to health, fitness and wellness matters.

You are a courteous and effective team player committed to community. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships. You will promote interest and participation in fitness activities while ensuring maintenance and safe use of weight room equipment. You have a sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of fitness and weight training programs and experience with various types of fitness and weight training equipment. You are able to evaluate fitness levels, develop individual weight training and fitness programs and monitor progress of clients.

Completion of a university program and related experience in a Fitness Centre, rehabilitation or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License. Standard First Aid certification or equivalent and CPR Level A. BCRPA Registered Personal Trainer or approved equivalent.

This is an auxiliary on-call position involving shift work including days, evenings and weekends. The pay for this unionized position ranges between $27.45 and $32.25 (based on 2019 pay rates) plus 12% in lieu of benefits.

All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position.
