The District is seeking an exceptional, experienced, executive assistant to join our team. This person will be a dynamic go-getter, who isn’t afraid to stretch beyond their comfort zone to assume new responsibilities. Passionate about delivering outstanding service, the person who wins this permanent full-time position provides confidential, executive level administrative and project support to the General Manager of Community Planning & Infrastructure, as well as technical guidance, leadership, career development support, and mentorship to the administrative staff under the Community Planning portfolio (Planning, Engineering, Facilities Development, and Public Works).
Our ideal candidate is a high-functioning and energetic natural leader. As the key point of contact for other administrative staff in the department, this position will oversee administrative activities, look for efficiencies, and support corporate strategic initiatives. With deep emotional intelligence, and the ability to read a complex political situation and respond appropriately, the desired applicant will have a minimum of five years’ progressive experience supporting leaders at the executive level, with at least two years’ experience in local government preferred. A diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field as well as courses or a certificate (PADM) in Local Government/Public Administration is also highly desirable.
