Job Description:****Apply Now**** ****Immediate Position**** – 50% in the field 50% in the office – We currently seek a full-time Environmental Technician with a minimum of 2-5 years work/field experience who will focus on execution of field operations with a focus on safety, efficiency and compliance with procedures. The successful candidate will work independently as well with contractors performing monitoring, contaminated site investigations including sampling and occupational hygiene assessments.Responsibilities:• Consulting and communicating with clients.• Completion of field work for a wide variety of project tasks related to occupational hygiene, eg. mould investigations, asbestos assessments, hazardous materials assessments, indoor air quality.• Conduct air monitoring for various mists, vapours, fibers, particulate or fume.• Conduct occupational hygiene assessments.• Preparation of technical reports, organizational skills and able to handle multiple projects and complete projects on time• Contaminated Site Investigations that include soil sampling during drilling, test pitting and excavation activities.• Collection of field data, including interviewing third parties (when applicable) and compilation of field notes and photographsQualifications:• College or University Degree in Environmental Field• Valid British Columbia Driver’s License Required• BC Drivers License with good driving record• Ability to prioritize several assignments at one time while ensuring delivery within specific deadlines• Willingness to travel locally and conduct fieldwork• Excellent interpersonal and English writing/speaking skills Company Description:ALARA Environmental Health and Safety Ltd. is an environmental consulting company that was established in over 25 years ago.
