Electrical/Instrumentation Technician Position – Regional District of Central Okanagan (Kelowna, BC)

Electrical/Instrumentation Technician Position

We are seeking applications for the full-time position of Electrical/Instrumentation Technician.  Reporting to the Supervisor of Utilities Services, you will perform tasks including the troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment for the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Sanitary Sewer and Water Distribution Systems.  This position includes maintenance and repair work and requires a solid understanding and knowledge of process control systems.

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical instrumentation repair and have recognizable training in Industrial Control Programming.  You must be certified as a Canadian Interprovincial Red Seal in Industrial Electrician or Instrumentation. Completion of a current Canada’s Electric Code (CEC) Course is required, as well as familiarity with the use of Microsoft Office Suite programs and the ability to perform corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as per CMMS.  You must be able to install and test new equipment and ensure that systems remain operable by troubleshooting alarms and alerts. You will assist in providing Operator training and support and assist with maintaining back-up data for all control systems and field devises to minimize downtime due to equipment failure. A valid BC Driver’s License is required.

This is a full-time position to commence immediately.  We offer a salary of $35.65 – $39.61 per hour along with highly competitive benefits, vacation and pension package.
