Job Description:Gumstix Research is looking for an Electrical Engineering Designer to join our team in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Gumstix’ pioneering products and web applications are changing how electronics are embedded in tiny systems.Growth in IoT, robotics, and Edge AI markets means we’re hiring again in our electrical engineering department in Vancouver. Our boards often end up in mechatronic systems and can involve high-speed networking and vision systems. We’re looking for an individual experienced with electronics- schematic and layout creation- who will develop and review new boards and modules. Duties Work within the product engineering team on new designs and modules Reliable and accurate schematic capture Meticulous PCB layout Test, debug and document board and module designs QualificationsExcited by and familiar with electronic circuits and embedded devicesMinimum 5+ years of previous work experience using schematic capture and layout tools Past experience working in a Linux environmentVersatile, independent problem-solver with good communication skills Mutual expectations You are a self-starter, work independently, solve your own problems, and expect to be challenged.
