Job Description: ABOUT US: The Real Estate Council of British Columbia protects the public interest by enforcing the licensing and licensee conduct requirements of the Real Estate Services Act. We license individuals and brokerages engaged in real estate sales, rental and strata property management, set entry qualifications, investigate complaints against licensees and impose disciplinary sanctions under the Act. We are responsible for ensuring that the interests of consumers who use the services of real estate licensees are adequately protected against wrongful actions by real estate professionals. We encourage public confidence by impartially setting and enforcing standards of conduct, education, competency and licensing for real estate professionals. We are accountable to the government, and we advise the government on real estate industry issues. We are currently seeking to hire two Education Representatives to join our team for a 1-year contract. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:Reporting to the Senior Manager, Education, the role of the Education Representative is to support the day-to-day operations of education programs and delivery at RECBC. Education representatives provide licensing, education and continuing education requirements and waivers to licensees and members of the public, answering learner inquiries, and maintaining licensee and learner data for education waivers, applied practice and continuing education courses.The Education Representative is also responsible for assisting in administering the operations of education programs related to scheduling and delivery of in-person and virtual classrooms as well as the administration of the education waiver policies, reviewing and recommending requests for education waivers for approval by the Senior Manager, Education in consultation with the education Operations Supervisor. Many of these duties are clerical in nature and are of moderate complexity and are completed following established practices.Acting as the first line of contact responding to general public inquiries by phone, emails, and in-person including providing information about licensing education requirements and waivers.Answering phone and email inquiries from licensees related to the program requirements, procedures, registration, content, organization, cancellation and refund policies.Answering phone and email inquiries from real estate member boards regarding learner course completion.Ensuring service standards are met and maintaining statistics of call volume and subject.Assisting in scheduling classes; coordinating the schedules of instructors and notifying them of any changes, cancellations or rearrangements when required.Supporting virtual classroom delivery by providing ongoing administrative and technical support to instructors to ensure disruption-free delivery.Scheduling courses for commercially applied course students.Assisting in keeping instructors up to date with the information that affects delivery of course(s).Revising and maintaining course registration as required.Assisting in arranging teaching centres for classes as needed and maintains contract and correspondence files. Confirming dates and classroom requirements with class location contacts.Arranging classroom supplies and equipment for course venues.Ordering and tracking course manuals to class.Ensuring course completion records are maintained accurately in licensing files and databases. Informing the Education Operations Supervisor and Senior Manager, Education of any significant opportunities or problems that may optimize or jeopardize the achievement of goals.Maintaining records of education decisions in licensing database and quarterly spreadsheet. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:2+ years of experience in administrative and office support roles in a regulatory setting preferred.A good understanding of the real estate industry is an asset.Office administration graduate or equivalent combination of experience and education.Strong understanding of applicable Real Estate Services Act legislation and related regulations and rules preferred. Proficient using MS Office, familiarity with Windows environment.Experience with using and administering online video conferencing platforms such as Zoom.Excellent customer service and proven interpersonal skills and diplomacy.Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.Excellent editing and proofreading skills.Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Demonstrated a high level of initiative, time management and organizational ability.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work both independently and as a team member.Ability to analyze situations and find solutions.Ability to adjust to changing priorities and maintaining a calm demeanour during busy or stressful times.
