Job Description:The Director/Senior Manager of Learning and Development will oversee training and content programs both for Cvent’s external clients and users as well as Cvent’s internal Client Services department. To be successful in this role, candidates should have proven success directing a large global software training function, guiding the development and implementation of progressive and long-term training programs. The role requires collaboration and partnership across the business, owning and driving both our external and internal CS learning strategy. Corporate Training: Consult with leadership at all levels as well as cross-functional stakeholders and partners to understand overall business strategy and issues, and how those impact learning strategy Develop learning strategy for the department that impacts business results, and translate that strategy into practical learning solutions for audiences at all levels Leverage needs analysis skills to uncover the real needs of leaders to provide recommendations to address learning gaps or potential opportunities and guide the creation of impactful learning solutions Oversee the design, development, and implementation of innovative and comprehensive global programs to drive talent development and engagement across the department Leverage change management methodologies to ensure global program adoption Proactively promote team offerings and develop team brand awareness as trusted training advisors; serve as an L&D ambassador to advocate for the value of learning initiatives within the department and across the companyClient Training and Instructional Design: Design the strategy and direct the implementation and evaluation of learning and content solutions that support the customer experience Drive customer adoption, retention, and acquisition strategies by enhancing customer engagement with training Partner with stakeholders in Client Success, Marketing, and Sales to develop roadmap for training and adoption content and integrated plan for driving engagement with customer and prospect audiencesOverall: Lead a team of L&D and content managers, and resource and manage external L&D vendors and relationships to serve the needs of the business. Build high performing teams to meet the needs of the business through recruiting, hiring, coaching, motivation, recognition, individual development, and support of career growth Demonstrate time and priority management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects as well as lead the delivery of global learning initiatives on tight timelines and budgets. Measure, evaluate, and report on appropriate metrics to communicate effectiveness and impact of learning programs; identify key insights to inform future strategies and tactics. Define budget requirements to meet training and content objectives relative to departmental goals; monitor and report on training costs for the business. Experience and Skills Required: 10+ years’ experience leading a global L&D team and managing large-scale learning and development programs, preferably in a high-growth SaaS environment, and with deep experience in developing and driving learning strategy across a global organization Demonstrated proficiency in developing the strategy, program design and implementation of learning initiatives Thorough understanding of adult learning theory, learning technologies and instructional design methodologies, particularly in a virtual and remote environment Strong understanding of best-in-class teaching/coaching techniques for adult learners in a corporate environment Experience guiding the direction of LMS platform use Demonstrated success in consulting and building partnerships with, influencing, and persuading key stakeholders Ability to understand strategic organizational issues and influence change Proven agility in a constantly changing environment Able to prioritize key programs under tight deadlines and use limited resources intelligently; experience with program-level financial and resource planning and budget tracking Strong project management skills, including a proven track record of leading large, complex projects using standard project management practices and tools Ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis. Capable and confident communicator with strong personal presence.
