SUMMARY: An exciting and challenging position exists as a Database Engineer in DFO Global Performance Commerce’s Vancouver, office. Reporting to our Chief Intelligence Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day setup, maintenance, and optimization of our data warehouse and data pipelines. DFO has over 20 exciting data pipelines, with popular platforms such as Facebook, Google, Amazon, and more – all going to our state-of-the-art snowflake database. The right person will have a proven ability to innovate, work across a variety of APIs and databases, and maintain a comprehensive catalog of all data streams, data mapping, and data integration solutions. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Translate business needs into data models: implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models.Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, and re-design infrastructure for greater scalability.Build analytics and reporting tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide results and business value to make data-driven decisions.Maintain and improve upon our existing ETL pipelinePerform routine maintenance tasks and upgrades of our server architectureWork with stakeholders including the Executive, Marketing, and Analytics teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.Apply best practices for testing and deployment in an agile environment.Proactively ensure data integrity and focus on continuous performance improvements of existing processes.Design, develop, test and support real-time analytics solutions using industry standard technologies.Promote data modeling standardization, define, and drive adoption of the standards.Implement deployment and infrastructure automation strategies.
