Fraser Health is responsible for the delivery of hospital and community-based health services to over 1.8 million people in 20 diverse communities. Advance is Fraser Health’s largest multi-year program which seeks to improve the way Fraser Health delivers care and the way patients experience care for better outcomes. As the Communications and Engagement Lead you will be responsible for developing the Advance Program’s Communication, Engagement Strategies and Plans for the complex health information system implementation. You will work on a large complex team working closely with the Organizational Change Management team, Training and Site Readiness Lead and Provider and Clinical Engagement Lead in delivering all communications and engagement deliverables to support Fraser Health in transitioning to new ways of working.. This role will consider the communications and engagement needs for both the region and individual sites as the Advance Program evolves throughout rollout. The following highlights some of the key responsibilities of this role:

  • Develop, implement and monitor Communication and Engagement strategy and plans for the Advance Program;
  • Advise program leadership on appropriate communication protocols and practices.
  • Manage and develop the publication of all written and digital communications materials, including brochures, internal news releases, announcements and program newsletters.
  • Oversees the development and ongoing management of key feedback channels including question process management for the program.
  • Partner with clinical and technical transformation leads to translate program materials into more consumable community facing communications through storytelling. Ability to translate complex clinical and technology concepts into meaningful communication medium as appropriate for variety of audiences is critical.
  • Designs and publishes periodic communication and engagement effectiveness surveys; reviews analysis of survey results; determines effectiveness of communications and engagement of the assigned program/projects; issues reports to management recommending specific courses of action to address issues/opportunities.
  • Oversees the development and ongoing management of key feedback channels including question process management for the program.
  • Ensure alignment with Fraser Health corporate communication standards.
  • Oversee communications team, as the program requires, to support delivery of rollout.

To join our team, we will look for you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree English, Communications, Marketing or a related area.
  • Five (5) years recent experience working with large-scale, digital or business transformation program
  • Five (5) years recent experience working in a contemporary IM/IT environment and/or health care industry.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

We will give preferences to those who have experience and a solid track record in the following areas:

  • Ability to develop and lead communication and engagement strategies and plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in a business and healthcare environment.
  • Strong storyteller with an ability to translate complex clinical and technology concepts into meaningful communication medium as appropriate for variety of audience.
  • Strong proficiency in working on large-scale complex digital health transformation programs and managing corresponding communications and engagement plans and project plans.
  • Detailed knowledge of change management principles and the ties to communication and engagement activities.
  • Ability to successfully lead and manage work teams and collaborate cross functionally.
  • Demonstrated solid grasp of contemporary information technologies and techniques to address business problems/opportunities.
  • Proficiency in social media, web design languages and applications such as HTML, WIX, WordPress wireframe development, ServiceNow etc.
