Chief Administrative Officer

Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality seeks a committed dynamic CAO who is a strong innovative hands-on leader. Parks and recreational operational experience is an asset. Land use planning, infrastructure experience and business knowledge will assist the CAO to guide this leading resort community. Strong written and verbal communication skills will enable the successful candidate to work with other levels of government and foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Incorporated in 2010, Sun Peaks is the fastest growing municipality in the Province. The resident population in 2011 was 371 persons and by 2016, the community had grown to 616 persons, a 66% increase. B.C. Statistics reported that from July 2018 to July 2019, Sun Peaks led growth among small communities with an annual growth rate of 14.1%. The present year-round resident population is estimated to be approximately 1,000, a 62% increase since the 2016 census. Sun Peaks also has an additional 750 residents who make Sun Peaks their winter home. Present total assessed value of all Sun Peaks properties is $907 million.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, including full benefits package and municipal pension plan.
