The City of Abbotsford’s Parks and Facilities division is seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as the Cemetery Services Administrator.
Reporting to the Manager, Administration & MCA, this is a high-level administrative position responsible for complex clerical and technical duties in cemetery services. This position provides administrative support, coordinates day-to-day operations of cemetery services and books city parks, recreation and culture facilities and/or equipment. Additional responsibilities include meeting with families and other representatives to discuss interment arrangements, processing the purchase of lots, internments and markers, tracking payments from third parties, issuing permits for burial, grave markers and gardens.
As the successful candidate for this position, you are the first point of contact for the majority of cemetery customers; you will be required to be knowledgeable and understanding of the cemetery industry.
An ability to communicate effectively; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment are essential to be successful in this position.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Post-secondary certificate in administration or equivalent related discipline.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in cemetery administration and/or cemetery operations.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $25.52 to $30.02.
