The City of Abbotsford’s Environmental Services division is seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as the Cart Coordinator. This project focused opportunity is full-time on a temporary basis, approximately 12 months.

In this challenging role you will be responsible for supporting the City’s transition from manual to fully automated collection. Responsibilities include administrative and technical support on a variety of business systems, significant resident outreach, cross-departmental collaboration, project management and data integration. Additional responsibilities include project management and liaison with the carts supplier and related to internal systems required to support the new curbside program.

With the support of the Solid Waste team, you will track and process missed collection and curbside issues, respond to resident inquiries, support the technical functioning of the on-board tablets, manage the cart inventory and work with clerical staff regarding administrative processes including billing and rate adjustments.

As the successful candidate for this position, you will have considerable knowledge of industry standards or common practices in addition to exceptional customer service and relationship building skills. Your project management or coordination experience along with your demonstrated analytical, problem solving and technical skills will support you as the lead these exciting initiates.  

An ability to communicate effectively; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment are essential to be successful in this position.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A Diploma in Engineering Technology or related discipline relevant to the positon.
  • Five years’ experience in project management or coordination, including business systems support and analysis.
  • A valid BC Driver’s Licence.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $37.77 to $44.41 plus an additional 12% in lieu of all benefits including vacation and statutory holiday pay.
