As the Business Analysis Manager, you will collaborate with business stakeholders and senior business leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and business transformation by leveraging innovative uses of people, processes and technology to enhances services offered to the citizens of Surrey.

Employment Status
Exempt – Regular Full-Time.

Your responsibilities will also include the following:

  • Provide effective daily management, leadership and coaching of staff
  • Plan and organize resource workload
  • Ensure the effective operation of team by overseeing / enhancing operational procedures
  • Manage budgets and staffing to meet business needs
  • Ensure the learning and development of skills in staff assigned to the team
  • Provide developmental opportunities to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities
  • Provide on-going developmental feedback
  • Ensure BA framework, methodology and processes are applied and are continually evolving over time
  • Ensure all process improvement and transformative programs are aligned with industry best practices and Surrey Excels/City priorities and objectives
  • Research, evaluate and recommend operational procedures and best practices to optimize processes and workflow efficiencies to enhance how the business does business
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge and understanding of company operations/procedures, and municipal trends/developments, to enhance the business analysis process

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A University degree or diploma in a related field (i.e. Computer Science, Business Administration) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of BA experience within a business and technology environment
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction in both formal and informal settings
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring valued, highly skilled and productive staff
  • Has cooperative leadership qualities such as patience, empathy and understanding when dealing with staff
  • Commitment to ongoing professional and technical development
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external business contacts
  • Has strong analytical, problem-solving skills, investigative, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in simple ways that foster understanding and agreement
  • Has a strong desire to create value through improving the organizations people, processes and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple demands and changing priorities
  • Proven track record of identifying potential business improvement and transformative opportunities
  • Skilled in active listening, visualizing and brainstorming with customers to create optimal solutions to complex business problems
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and apply data/information from a variety of sources
  • Experienced in developing and preparing business analysis documentation and planning
  • Knowledgeable in current business and technology trends
  • CBAP certification preferred
  • Agile experience preferred
