Facilities and Purchasing is looking to fill two new temporary Posted-Part time Building Service Worker positions in the Maintenance Division.  This position performs a variety of cleaning tasks at the Central Branch of the Library.  We require two night shift BSW’s to sanitize tables, chairs and workstations after the Library has closed to the public.  

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of materials, methods and simple equipment used in janitorial work.
  • Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions related to the work.
  • Ability to arrange an effective work schedule with minimal direction.
  • Good health and strength sufficient to perform a variety of routine manual tasks in the care, cleaning and general maintenance of buildings.
  • Skill in the use of cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to read, write and follow simple oral instructions.

 

This position requires sufficient elementary school education to ensure ability to read, write, and follow simple oral instructions, plus a BSW Certificate and some janitorial experience in a large building, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Licenses, Certificates and Registrations:

  • B. C. Driver’s license.

Salary range: $23.44 to $27.45 per hour plus 12% in lieu of Benefits. *This position is subject to shift differential*.

Hours of work: 9:00 pm to 5:00 am (Sunday to Wednesday) or (Thursday to Saturday).
