Assistant Engineering Services Technician
(8 – 12 month Temporary Full-Time)

We currently have a temporary full-time opening for an Assistant Engineering Services Technician to assist our Engineering Design, Transportation and Project Delivery staff.
You will be primarily involved in technical engineering and administration work related to project management and coordination of the delivery of municipal engineering infrastructure projects. Duties will include scope, schedule and budget monitoring and tracking, payment verification, contract administration, internal and external stakeholder engagement, liaison with senior levels of government, attending site meetings, interaction with the public, and associated project correspondence. You will to a lesser degree, assist in the design and drafting of smaller internal projects which may include sidewalk, bike lane, intersection and road improvement projects. Knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
Preferred candidates will be completed or nearing completion of a civil engineering degree program or have recently completed a technical diploma. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Familiarity with municipal design principles, standards and practices, including the Master Municipal Contract Document is preferred. A valid BC Driver’s Licence is required.
The pay range for this unionized position is $28.55 – $33.60 per hour (2019 rates) based on a 35 hour work week.
