We are a 24/7 Central station processing alarms from across North America, including: Burglary Alarms Fire Alarms Hold Up Alarms Panic Alarms Medical Alarms Fire Alarms and Various other proprietary alarm devices. The job is similar to a 911 dispatcher, in that we dispatch, Police, Security, Ambulance and the Fire Department to various alarms as well as process maintenance signals for the systems we monitor. Our operators are trained to provide our customers with professional and timely alarm response service and to respond to critical emergencies for fire, medical, duress, panic and intrusion. We are a ULC/UL rated Central Station. We have been in the business since 1983 with a proven track record of success. We do not guarantee overnight or day shifts. Applicants must be available for both and are placed based on operational needs and how they preform during the training program. PAY: 15/hr to start Key Responsibilities: Responds to incoming alarm signals in a prompt and efficient manner, ensuring excellent response time. Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills. Listens to customers and identifies needs and/or problems, decides which course of action should be taken based on the particulars described and follows established procedures and guidelines. Dispatch Authorities. Training: Paid training is provided. Successful completion of training mandatory for position. Other Information: ALL SHIFTS ARE 12 HOURS. Must be able to work day and nights. Must have full availability for 7 days a week. We do not hire for specific shifts, as operators may be required to change hours from time to time. Requirements Education: High school Experience: Will Train Languages: Must Speak, Read & Write English Fluently. Cantonese and Mandarin an asset. Work Setting: Private sector Specific Skills: 1 to 2 years experience in a customer oriented position with strong data entry/keyboarding skills. Previous call centre and customer service experience would be an asset. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Self motivator with a positive outlook. Ability to work shifts and weekends. Strong interpersonal, communication and diplomacy skills Ability to manage stressful situations and work effectively in a team environment Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment Preference is given to applicants who have completed the 9/11 Emergency Communications course Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Decision making, Finding information, Computer use Security and Safety: As a pre-condition of employment a Criminal record check is required.
