Alarm Dispatcher – District of Saanich (Saanich, BC)



Regular Part Time 

Applications are now being accepted for a Regular Part-Time Alarm Dispatcher position. Selected candidates will be utilized for peak operational periods or backfill for vacation, illness, training, or scheduled time off.

In this vital role, you will respond to public requests for emergency service and/or information and are primarily responsible for receiving 9-1-1 emergency calls and dispatching the appropriate fire/rescue services.

Applicants must be in good health, be able to meet established medical and academic standards, work shifts, and qualify in essential job function and aptitude tests. Requirements include ccompletion of Grade 12; six months experience in customer service, typing speed greater than 40 WPM; audiogram report from a registered audiologist; visual exam, valid Class 5 BC Drivers Licence and satisfactory Police Information Check.

These are IAFF bargaining unit positions with a starting hourly rate of $31.69 plus 14% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work and work schedule is variable and based on the department needs.
