The Surrey School District has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Director of Facilities & Transportation Services, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the front office. The Administrative Assistant leads a team of unionized clerical assistants and also provides support to the Director and Assistant Directors at the District Facilities Centre.
The ideal candidate will have successful experience in a supervisory/office management role in a fast-paced and demanding setting. Strong leadership skills are necessary to handle work planning, recruitment, staff development and resolution of complex personnel matters. The ability to perform in an exemplary professional manner and demonstrate a positive, service- and solution-oriented attitude is essential.
Applicants must have:
- A diploma in Business Administration or equivalent;
- A minimum of five years’ equivalent work-related experience including supervisory and/or management experience, preferably in a unionized environment;
- Advanced computer skills, including fluency in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
