About The Opportunity:
As a key frontline support person for employee payroll queries, this fast paced position is responsible for processing bi- weekly payroll for all City and Library employees, providing leadership and direction to the Accounting Clerks, overseeing the financial functions and supports for other departments, as well as assisting with the overall accounting needs of the City. A major focus of this position is the City’s fully integrated payroll system, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, with which you will be involved in implementing upgrades and testing processes to verify programming changes and ensure expected results.

About Your Background:
Ideally, you will have completed a diploma in Finance or Business Administration as well as a Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate or equivalent. You also possess a minimum of five years of experience processing payroll for a large employer, skill in processing financial and accounting transactions including year-end functions and significant expertise using a complex computerized financial system. Your attention  to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to be professional when dealing with sensitive business and employee information are fundamental qualities for this engaging role.
