Fitness Room Attendant – Summer Position
We are seeking a Fitness Room Attendant to perform work over the summer overseeing the weight room and recreational gym in the fitness centre in support of a variety of summer recreation programs in our community. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing supervision, instruction and orientation to ensure the safe and proper use of equipment and be skilled in assisting individuals with fitness programs suitable for their level of fitness. The incumbent will ensure that equipment is in good working order and that the area is clean and safe.
The successful candidate will have completed grade 12 supplemented by a diploma or certification program in community recreation, leadership and/or sports science, and have sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You are also required to have completed BCRPA Weight Trainer – Fitness (or equivalent), BDCRPA Personal Training (or equivalent) and have emergency first aid. You must be willing to work various shifts, Monday through Sunday, 5:45am – 10:15pm as scheduled.
The term for these positions is mid June until the end of August (to be confirmed)
***These positions are partially funded by the Government of Canada Summer Jobs 2019 Program which stipulates that all applicants must be under 30 years old and available to work full-time hours July – August***
Fitness Room Attendant – $24.24 (+10% in lieu of benefits)
